A Neck Lift, is a cosmetic procedure that targets sagging skin under the jaw line and neck through tightening skin, tissues and muscles.
The effects of aging show early within the neck area. The skin begins to hang loosely and the muscles underneath lose their tone. Having a contoured neck projects masculinity, youthfulness and enhances self-confidence.
There are three different surgical techniques to perform Neck Lift Surgery called Cervicoplasty, Platysmaplasty and Liposuction which may also be combined.

There are three different techniques to achieve a more aesthetic neckline, determined by the individual’s anatomy. Mr Ferrando will likely use a variety of these methods to achieve the best possible result.
The Cervicoplasty is ideal for men with weak skin elasticity and the need for loose skin removal. This procedure requires an incisions in back of the ears similar to a facelift, with repositioning of the tissues and removal of excess skin.
Platysmaplasty, is the repair of a separated neck muscles performed through a 2-3 cm incision beneath the chin. This procedure applies for men with a poorly defined neckline and can be done in conjunction with the Cervicoplasty.
Liposuction is carried out through a very small incision beneath the chin or in the crease behind the earlobes. The fat may then be transfered to another area of the face, if desired (Fat Transfer).
After the Surgery has been completed, a compressive garment will be applied to your neck to give the necessary support.
After Surgery – Recovery
After the surgery, the compressive garment must be kept on for about a week. Drainage tubes may be attached to your face but will be removed 1-2 days after surgery. You may experience light bruising and swelling for the first few days. Mr Ferrando will prescribe you pain relief medication to ease your discomfort.
It is important to keep your head in an elevated position as it will aid the recovery process. Some type of stitches are dissolvable and will disappear over time, whereas others will need to be removed 5 to 7 days after surgery.
You should feel fine after 2-3 days after surgery, but patients are recommended to have at least one week off work to allow their body to rest and recover comfortably at home. Any strenuous exercise or activities should be avoided for at least 2 weeks after surgery.
Follow up appointments will be made for you after surgery, but if you have any questions, or you should feel unsure about anything, please contact Mr Ferrando and he will gladly talk to you. The well being of his patients is of utmost importance to him.
